The Trad Wife

The idea of a Traditional Wife (or Trad Wife as it’s often called) has become quite unpopular—that is, in some circles. Even among some of the more conservative groups I have found this to be true. We live in a time where it’s challenging to make anyone happy. It would seem that if you’re on […]

A Stocking For Asher

I was so thankful this year when I unpacked our Christmas things and I found leftover Christmas fabric from the stockings I had made a couple years ago. More than enough was there to make Ash a stocking. In less than an hour I whipped up his very own stocking that fits perfectly with the […]

Trimming the Tree

Our little tree was a challenge this year. Florida Christmas trees are small and do not have sturdy branches. That didn’t stop us from having a fantastic time decorating.

Prepping for Hurricane Irma

Less than one year from our last hurricane preparations and we are battening down again. On our farm we like to welcome friendly visitors with open arms, but Irma is definitely an unwelcome visitor.

The Lowly Position Of a Child

Oh, these sweet people.  They make my heart swoon!  Each one is different.  Each one has special gifts and things that they do very well.  Each one has struggles and moments when they experience the sadness that life can bring.  I love their different personalities.  They have things that they love and that are their […]

One Year Ago…

Today my heart is heavy. I miss my dad every day, but today I feel that sadness hanging a little heavier over me. This is the day my dad went to be with the Lord. This is the morning he breathed his final breath and his soul departed from his body. I miss him.

Our Foster Family

Our family has embarked upon a new adventure. This one is sure to be a blessing for us all–foster care. It has been on our hearts for quite some time to take care of kids who need a family to love and care for them, no matter how long or short of a time that […]

Servants for Jesus

Something that has consumed my heart for some time is teaching my children to have a heart for Jesus. Part of this heart, this passion, is serving Him. My hubby and I both serve faithfully in our church, with our children right alongside of us. Modeling this behavior to our kids has taken a prominent […]

Chicken Pox

Sometimes Scott’s job takes him away from us for a few days. Usually, and I wish this didn’t have a pattern to follow it, but usually when he goes something unusual happens. Unusual and unpleasant. This particular week began with Chloe getting sick. It only lasted for a day so I blew it off. But […]

School Days

My mind is filled with lesson plans.  Books and papers, reading materials and math games, co-op schedules and daily rhythms are whirling around in my head.  Tomorrow begins our first day back to school after our break.
