Watercolor Walls

We’ve been in our house for two years now. The room that the girls share is a nice size so they all three fit great in there together, but it needed a paint job…badly!  I love the way Waldorf schools paint their walls. They use the Lazure technique, which looks amazing!

The Ladies in The Hinge

Painted hinges drive me crazy.  Let me change that.  Poorly painted hinges drive me crazy.  But on top of that, rusted, poorly painted hinges drive me super duper crazy.  I am planning to do a big time clean up on all hinges in this house.  They all shall soon be removed and properly fixed to […]

Raised Garden Beds – Part 2

I’m probably way to excited about my second raised garden being put in this past week.  But for two reasons:  1.  We have another fantastic place to grow some tasty, organic veggies.  and 2.  My wonderful husband did the entire thing without me even asking him to do it.  He made time, got all the […]

{Master Bedroom Redo} Step 3 – The White

This week has been filled with the joys of painting…but also with a stomach virus in our house.  The room had been kind of put on standby for a few days, but now we are back on track!  Of course I gratefully accepted help from my brilliant little butterflies who happily threw on Daddy’s t-shirts […]

{Master Bedroom Redo} Step 2 – The Blue

I am so excited about painting!  I have been imagining this room for a while now.  We waited to paint until the kids were in bed, which is usually how Scott likes to do it.  Although since they are a little older for this particular project, it may have been okay to paint while they […]

{Master Bedroom Redo} Step 1 – Prepping the Walls

It’s finally time!!!  I am so excited about redoing the master bedroom.  It’s always the last room to get done.  We are going for a spa feel…mama’s room of relaxation is more of what it will be.  So far, we’ve added the wooden shutters to the sliding glass doors, made over the night stands, and […]

{My Handy Hubby} Pool Progress Report – Days 5-10

The pool has reached its “curing” time.  Today is the day to fill it!  Scott put the hose in it and it wasn’t long before 3 little girls were begging to experience their newly refurbished pool…

{My Handy Hubby} Pool Progress Report – Day 3 and 4

It’s painting day!  Scott brick sanded the cement spots and the pool was sealed/painted by him and his wonderful parents (that’s where he gets his handy hubby-ness).  The pool used to be white.  Of course, when I say white I do mean gray, as cleaning it was impossible.  Now, it’s blue!  It’s going to take […]

{My Handy Hubby} Pool Progress Report – Day 2

Today the pool got super cleaned!  Pressure washed and acid washed (a different decade and we could’ve thrown a pair of jeans in there with it!).  After it dried nicely, the guys patched the holes and big cracks with concrete.  One step closer to a fabulous pool!  Tomorrow, I believe, will bring painting sealant on […]

{My Handy Hubby} Pool Progress Report – Day 1

Today is the first day of our pool reconstruction.  Our impossible to clean pool.  And you’ll see why.  Our pool is a fiberglass pool.  When the previous pool refinishers refinished the pool ( 🙂 ), they did a not-so-good job.  They put the wrong kind of coating on the pool, causing cracks and, let’s face […]
