It’s finally here! If your kids are like mine, they are just about losing it with excitement. And in a couple cases over here there was some actual losing it that occurred. It’s hard to be little and tired and ready for that jolly big guy to leave your heart’s one true desire in your living room!

I’m sure you’re like me and you use these last fleeting moments of Christmas guilting magic to encourage the kids to clean their rooms so things can be sparkling when Santa arrives. As it is, I’ve been really enjoying using advent candy as leverage for good behavior, although it didn’t really work as I had hoped.
Tonight we spent a wonderful time at our church’s Christmas Eve service. It was so nice to celebrate the birth of our Savior together! Good music. Good message. Good times with our church family. That’s my hubby in the red shirt playing bass. 🙂

When everyone was snug in their new handmade Christmas jammies, the kids put out goodies for the reindeer and for Santa (thanks, Jenna, for the rice crispy treats!). We baked several different treats when Nana visited last week, but they’ve mysteriously disappeared since then.

Scott and I were just musing how last year the kids got up at 1:00 am and then every hour after that until we finally gave in at 6:15 and accepted that the morning had arrived. So for you this Christmas Eve, it is our wish that you get to sleep in past 7:00, because that is our wish for us as well (yes, I said “sleep in.”). Merry Christmas Eve!
