Growing

The cooler months are upon us here in Florida.  While much of the rest of the country is snowy and freezing, we are enjoying having the windows open and running outside without having to come in to avoid the heat or jump in the pool to cool off a bit.  The girls have been enjoying their time outside.  Before we begin  our daily activities, we spend a good portion of the morning playing and gardening.DSC_0191 DSC_0193 DSC_0173 DSC_0119 DSC_0170 DSC_0150 DSC_0122

We have a snake, which I’m pretty sure lives under our pool pump….ewww! Not a fan of snakes.

We tend our garden in the morning and give it a good soak with the hose.  Did I mention that my garden was a disaster this season?  Sadly, it didn’t produce much at all.  But I do have some pepper plants that look like they’re going to give us a ton of peppers.  I cleaned out the garden a couple days ago and we are readying it to start anew in another month.  Scott has already mixed the compost into the soil and we are waiting for Jack Frost to visit (a two week kind of thing here) before we get our seeds in the dirt.  We also check on our orange tree every day and see how the oranges are growing.  It’s just about time to pick them and I can’t wait!  Our tree is in it’s second year.  Last year it wasn’t very productive, but this year we have a dozen oranges that I can’t wait to pick.DSC_0188 DSC_0163 DSC_0185 DSC_0144 DSC_0211 DSC_0158

The girls climb and swing and play.  Laelia has been trying (and doing very well!) to keep up with her big sisters from the moment she became mobile.  And on the playground it’s no different.  And when she has trouble, she asks them for help, which they willingly give.  It’s wonderful to watch my girls playing so nicely together.  Part of being a parent is hoping your children will love one another.  It could go either way.  I am so grateful that all my girls have a loving spirit.  They are each giving in a different way and all want their sisters to be included in what they’re doing (for the most part).  It’s the kind of love I pray will grow and stay with them forever.  No one will experience your life like your sibling will.  It’s such an amazing bond and I’m so thankful they have one another.  The girls are already planning on taking care of their new brother, which is just so precious I can hardly stand it.  Initially sibling love was not where I was planning to go with my story, but I like it!  🙂  Kinda makes me want to call my brother, although as I’m writing this it’s pretty late.  He might not appreciate a call right now.  😉  Tomorrow!
