My Little Chefs

Ask Chloe what she wants to do when she grows up and she will tell you she wants to “Cook spaghetti!”  She’ll also follow it up with a list of delicious things she wants to cook and bake.

She says she’s going to own her own restaurant with a purple roof and she’s going to have a special table just for Mommy where she will make me all of my favorite things.  Well, that will just be fantastic!

Tonight I let the girls cook dinner.  And I do mean that they cooked dinner.

I began cooking with my mom when I was 2 years old.  I started my girls as soon as they could stir–16 months or so.  Laelia even got to help us bake the last time.

Chloe and Willow would love to cook dinner every evening, but sometimes it’s just not feasible.  Tonight it just seemed perfect.

Chloe filled up the pot with water, although she had to make lots of trips because the pot is so big that she couldn’t have carried it without having trouble.

Thanks for my apron, Aunt Season!

They took turns stirring the meat while it browned.

And they poured in the sauce.  They each took turns, but when it came time for Willow’s turn she accidentally spilled some sauce, so I didn’t get a picture of her this time.  She did a good job, just got a little excited.  : )

Don’t you just love their new hair cuts!?!

Mama, of course, had to drain the spaghetti to avoid any burns, but they did the rest themselves.

Mmmm…looks like I’m going to get a break here and there from cooking dinner every night with such wonderful chefs in our kitchen!
