Laelia’s Birthday Dress

Perhaps you’ve noticed a theme for the week.  Laelia.  Today, I sewed her dress for her birthday party on Saturday.  I am really excited about how it turned out.  I made a little bow to match.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn’t pull out of her hair.  She’s not a fan of bows, but I couldn’t help myself.  I also want to make a matching purse for her.  birthday dress, laelia's birthday dress, simple birthday dress, easy dress pattern for girlsI got the floral fabric for $1 a yard!  And I got all that they had because I thought it was so cute.  Naturally, Scott was excited about that since we literally have fabric spilling out of a closet–I really just need 10 minutes to tidy that up, but I can’t do it when six little hands are helping and two of those hands belong to someone whose feet can’t help climbing up the shelves in the closet and grabbing things that are dangerous or just tossing things on the floor.  My sweet helpers.

Anyway.  This dress by itself took me one hour to sew.  The bow was another 10 minutes or so.  Not too bad.  And my oh my! How precious she looks in it.  That’s for another day though.  shirt dressfabric, sewing dresses for girls, easy patterns for girlsfloral fabric, dresses for little girls, gathering fabricSewing the skirtMatching dress and bow for girlsbirthday dress, laelia's birthday dress, simple birthday dress, easy dress pattern for girls
