Projects

Projects, projects, projects….I always love a project!  And it’s a good thing, because they are everywhere.

The living room has finally been painted…phew!  I usually do the majority of the painting, but I’m happy to say that Scott did most of it this time.  We have more to do though.  Included in the project is a tile job in the kitchen.  I can’t wait for that!

I think I’ve already shared this picture but I couldn’t find my others of him painting.

I’m making tons of dresses this week–just five, but that seems like tons to me right now.  Plus, I had all the fabric I needed to make my girls matching dresses, but while I was taking a shower one day, Miss Willow found a pair of scissors and cut a fantastic design into the middle of one of the pieces of fabric.  When I found her she immediately started to cry and tell me how sorry she was.  Knowing her personality, I think she saw something fun and didn’t think it through before she did it.  Then when she realized what she had done to Mama’s fabric she felt horrible.  Poor lady.  But I am glad she recognizes when she does something wrong and feels bad for doing it.

She did ask me yesterday where her dress was that I was supposed to sew for her….I had to remind her of the fabric cutting incident.  I’ll get back to the store this week.  But for now, I’ve sewn  three out of the five dresses this week that I had planned to sew.  More pictures to come…

I am also going to be trying out my dye skills this week.  I was given this really comfy shirt by my mother.  I love this shirt.  It’s the kind that looks great on and can either be worn out and about or with some yoga pants.  But.  It’s.  White.  And I have three kids 5 and under who, when I first put it on, I could see staring at it like a bunch of hungry wolves ready to pounce on fresh meat.  Only instead of meat, it was my white shirt.  And instead of hungry wolves, they were cute, snugly little girls with chocolaty faces and hands….my white shirt is now speckled with brown spots.

Needless to say, I can’t get rid of White Shirt.  I love White Shirt.  I just need to fix it.  I found some brown dye hidden away in the cabinet above my dryer that I had used years ago to tie dye some onesies for some cute little babies.  And I’ve been told I rock the color brown.  I’m not sure about that, but I think tomorrow I might try to tackle this.  I’m pretty excited about this project.  I was going to work on it tonight, but instead, I’m sitting here talking to you fine people about wanting to work on it.  Funny huh?
