If there’s one thing that I don’t really like it’s waste. I recycle, compost, and try to make our family as waste free as possible. Christmas mornings are full of wonderful excitement and gift opening and togetherness, but also…waste. This year I had planned to make all of the gift wrap for our gifts that we give. I wasn’t able to do all of the gifts this way. So far, I’ve completely wrapped one with several more in the works. It’s a start.
I wanted the wrapping to also be useful, so I made bags for them. I found an absolutely fabulous and easy bag tutorial here.
I altered it only slightly to fit the gift size, so it wouldn’t look too big or too small.
I tucked the handles inside to hide them until their new owner is ready to use it as a bag (it also serves as a bonus gift!). Which also reminds me, it makes hauling gifts away super easy!
Isn’t that just so cute!? Oh, I just love it! I have some great tag ideas for next year that I’m going to work on and share. I’m just running out of time and I still have a few gifts left to make…the elves are very busy here right now…
