In March Chloe started riding lessons. She has loved every moment in the saddle and, although this has nothing to do with skill or horses, she looks absolutely precious up there. She has her lesson and then the other girls get a very short turn on the pony.
But while Chloe has her lesson, her sisters and I roam the farm and play with the animals who live there. Some run free around the farm and others stay penned. This has been such a cool experience for them. And for me! I have actually learned a lot about Willow in this experience. She is amazing with animals and they are drawn to her in an equally amazing way! Willow, who loves to play with her sisters and have adventures, is more introverted than they are and a very tactile person. So, when I saw her with these animals, it occurred to me that this might be a very beneficial avenue for her. She relates to them in an incredible way! A donkey actually called her over and stayed by her side the entire time she was by the fence. Laelia and I were there too, but that donkey was completely enamored with Willow. But that was nothing compared to the way this goat was drawn to her. And when we return the same goat seeks her out and tries to snuggle with her. So precious.
This is Willow’s favorite goat. The goat saw her from far away and came over to her immediately. She obviously remembered her too. 😉
If you look closely you can see the poor chickie that Laelia is chasing. She never caught him, but not for a lack of trying!
So, we all want a farm. Badly. I think we’d absolutely love it! And with soon to be 4 kiddos running around here, we’d have plenty of helping hands.
