Operation Christmas Child

Well, the time is closing in on one of my favorite times of year.  It’s time to get our shoe boxes all packed and ready for Operation Christmas Child.  If you haven’t participated yet, this is your year and if you haven’t heard of OCC, click HERE.

We started this tradition a few years ago.  We pack boxes for kids in third world countries who need a little love and light in their lives.  This is really cool because we are able to help provide some necessities like toothbrushes and paste, a comb, pens, crayons, paper, clothes, shoes, plus something soft to snuggle and play with.

But what makes this extra cool is that after they receive their box, they get to learn about Jesus through the awesome people at Samaritan’s Purse.  This fabulous organization works hard to share God’s love with these kids.  For some of them it is the first time they have ever had anyone do anything kind for them, and to learn about the never ending love of God gives them so much hope.

This year we will be packing our boxes at our church, Lakeside Fellowship Church in Vero Beach.  If you live nearby and want to join in the fun, please do!  So far I have one date set for a packing party—November 4th at 9:00.  Let me know if you can make it so we can have enough refreshments for everyone.  We plan to get in the Christmas spirit and have a great time packing boxes for the precious kids who will receive them.  Bring stuff to pack, bring a full box, or come to help and fellowship with others.
If you don’t live nearby, but want to know how to get a box and where to turn it in, click HERE for drop off locations.
